Polyurethane/Resin/Foam Casting, Short-Medium Production
We can produce master patterns and short-run production molds (often called “soft tooling”) to create multiplies of a plastic, resin or foam part. The molding process we use captures incredible accuracy (to the point of seeing finger prints in softer master patterns). Polyurethane casting is the perfect bridge between rapid prototyping and full production injection molding.
Composites: Carbon Fiber/Fiberglass, Design and Fabrication, Molding and Tooling
WDM has a full composite shop setup specifically for wet-layup epoxy and polyester resin laminate parts. We design build and use all of our own tooling in house for production of carbon fiber and fiberglass parts. With the large working envelope of our 5 axis router we can build anything from a small bracket to a full wing skin or car body.
Electronics: Programming, Hardware/Software
Along with our physical fabrication we are intimately familiar with electronic systems used in many industrial applications. Robotics, industrial automation, lighting systems, off the shelf and custom made programmable logic controllers are all usable in our projects.
Foundry: Bronze/Aluminum Casting, Tooling and Mold design.
As one of the more traditional processes, the use of industrial casting in many industries is still very prevalent. We do our own molding and casting in-house. The combination of in-house casting along with our extensive history with machining the same castings we produce offers our clients a one stop shop for this completed process.
CAD Modeling, Industrial Design Engineering, Design for Manufacturing
It all begins with a CAD model. So much of our process revolves around digital-physical production. Wheather a cad model is needed for another vendor or for one of our in-house production processes we are here to assist with all of your CAD and digital modeling needs.
Digital Rendering/ Digital Imagery
In combination with our modeling services the process of providing digitally rendered images and videos from those models offers a perfect way to evaluate, revise and critique designs before committing to full production. Digital renderings also provide an alternative to product photography and marketing materials in preliminary and early projects.
